In the world of energetic healing, there’s something deeply beautiful about the way different practices can complement each other. Reiki, Qigong, and meditation may each look and feel unique, but at their core, they all guide us toward the same thing: energetic balance, inner peace, and embodied presence.
Let’s explore how these practices intertwine—and how bringing them together can deepen your healing journey.

What Is Qigong?
Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese practice that blends slow, intentional movements with breathwork and mindfulness. The word “Qi” means life force energy, and “Gong” means skill or cultivation. So, Qigong literally translates to “energy cultivation”—a practice to help you connect with and move your vital life force through your body.
Qigong is also a somatic practice—it allows the body to dynamically meditate and regulate energy through gentle movement. As you move, breathe, and stay present, you're not just exercising your physical body—you're supporting emotional, mental, and energetic alignment.
Think of Qigong as a moving meditation. It gently activates the energy pathways in your body (called meridians), clears stagnation, and helps regulate your nervous system. Regular practice can lead to more grounded energy, better emotional regulation, and a stronger connection between body, breath, and mind.
It’s also a beautiful way to stay balanced in between Reiki sessions, giving you a tangible, embodied way to keep your energy flowing smoothly day to day.

How Qigong and Reiki Align
Reiki and Qigong both work with life force energy—they just approach it in different ways.
In Reiki, the practitioner serves as a channel for universal energy, allowing it to flow into the client’s energy field to promote healing, relaxation, and energetic clearing.
In Qigong, the practitioner (or student) actively moves and cultivates their own energy through breath and movement.
When practiced together or in tandem, they create a beautiful balance between receiving and participating in your healing: Qigong empowers you to connect with and guide your own energy. Reiki supports you by helping clear and restore your energy with loving intention.
Whether you're receiving Reiki after a Qigong session, or integrating Qigong as part of your self-care in between sessions, these two modalities work in harmony to regulate your energetic body.
And Where Does Meditation Fit In?
Both Reiki and Qigong are meditative in nature, even if they don’t look like traditional seated meditation. Each involves a calm, centered awareness of the present moment and encourages a softening of the mind.
Bringing meditation into your practice—whether it’s a breath awareness exercise, a body scan, or a forest visualization—can:🌬️ Deepen your connection to Qi🌀 Clear mental fog💗 Help you listen to the messages of your body
Meditation becomes the thread that weaves everything together. It creates the inner stillness that allows Reiki to flow freely and Qi to move with clarity.
